POOLESVILLE, Md. -- Visual Analytics, Inc. (VAI), a leading provider of award-winning analytical software designed for pattern discovery and information access, was recently selected by the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) for their Law Enforcement Information Exchange (LInX) project.
The NCIS is the Department of the Navy's primary law enforcement arm whose mission is to protect the assets and personnel of the United States Navy and Marine Corps throughout the world. LInX is a joint initiative involving NCIS, 12 law enforcement agencies in the Hampton Roads region, and the Virginia State Police. LInX connects federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies in the Hampton Roads area creating a secure information-sharing network.
Ben McPhatter, COO of VAI, said, "NCIS needed enabling technology to meet the growing need for advanced analytical analysis to combat crime for the NCIS LInX project." He adds, "In a head-to-head trade study and benchmark against the competition using real data, VisuaLinks won again with the best combination of robust features and functionality for data visualization and link analysis, collaboration capabilities, integration with third party tools (including Verity), and lowest total cost of ownership. This further validates VisuaLinks as the best-of-breed data visualization, link analysis, and data mining suite in the marketplace. As a former Marine and co-founder of a veteran-owned business, I am proud that Visual Analytics' technology will be helping NCIS to protect the Navy, Marines, their families, and all U.S. citizens."
Founded in 1998, Visual Analytics, Inc. (VAI) is a privately-held, veteran-owned company based in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area focused on superior pattern discovery and secure information sharing solutions for knowledge discovery. VAI serves a wide-range of markets dealing with complex issues that need advance data analyses, link analysis, and data mining. VAI has created a suite of advanced tools called Data Clarity, including VisuaLinks and Digital Information Gateway (DIGTM), which are used to search, find, discover, structure, and present data for analysis.
