Cal State L.A. Offers Winter Series Focus on Forensic Science

LOS ANGELES -- The Physics and Astronomy Department at California State University, Los Angeles introduces the Winter 2004 Science Series. This series is devoted to forensic science and how the natural sciences contribute to the solution of crimes. All lectures will be held on Wednesday evenings at 8 p.m.
January 14, 2004: Dr. Harold Goldwhite will present "Murder and Molecules: Forensic Science in Mystery Fiction."
February 4, 2004: Dr. Katherine Roberts will present "Chemistry and Crime: From the Test Tube to Testimony."
March 3, 2004: Dr. Donald Johnson will present "The Scientific Investigation of Violent Crime."
April 14, 2004: Dr. Richard Hurst will present "Coming of Age: Forensic Geoscience in the New Millennium."
May 12, 2004: Dr. Elizabeth Miller will present "Dead Men Do Tell Tales: Forensic Anthropology and Human Remains."
The lectures will be held at Cal State L.A. in the Physical Sciences building, Room 158. The university is located at the Eastern Avenue exit of the San Bernardino (I-10) Freeway at the interchange of the I-10 and 710 freeways. Public (ticket dispenser) parking is available in Lots C and G, or the upper level of Parking Structure II.
